The fours Café Cerés are planned to close April 13, according to a message sent to Daniel del Prado Restaurant Group staff today.

“While we are proud of what we accomplished in the cafe space and tried to make it a success, it's clear that the DDP Restaurant Group's future lies in what we do best –creating and operating amazing, and highly successful, restaurants by delivering exceptional hospitality, crafting unforgettable dining experiences, and leading chef-driven food and beverage programs,” the message reads.

The roughly 30 Café Cerés baristas voted to unionize with UNITE HERE Local 17 last August, part of a larger campaign to organize restaurant workers in Southwest Minneapolis.

The Daniel del Prado Restaurant Group operates two Café Cerés locations in Southwest Minneapolis, one downtown Minneapolis, and one near Minnehaha Falls.
