Close to a year after the family-owned South Lyndale Liquors vacated the premises for a larger outlet a few blocks south, beer will once again fill the space. But this time, with dogs.

The building is being split into two establishments, one for a spot named City Paws Pub, the other for dog care. The building is being remodeled so City Paws Pet Club and Pub hope to be opened by the beginning of 2025.

According to City property records, City Paws Pub has applied for a liquor license for 5300 Lyndale Ave. S. but the license has not come before the City Council for approval yet.

City Paws Pet Club has two existing locations, one in West Maka Ska at 3054 Excelsior Blvd and the other downtown at 300 S. 2nd St.
