There are now two mayoral candidates with Southwest Minneapolis roots.
Omar Fateh, a Minnesota senator for District 62, has just launched an ActBlue donation site, but with little information on his campaign.
“Together, we can build a city that works for everyone!” Fateh’s donation site reads.
As a Minnesota senator, Fateh received attention for his work on a State bill on rideshare regulations that Gov. Tim Walz initially vetoed. A different version of the bill was signed into law this year.
Fateh joins DeWayne Davis, the lead minister at Steven Square’s Plymouth Congregational Church, as candidates running against incumbent Jacob Frey in 2025.
