Neighborhood Roots is thrilled to announce the launch of the Southwest Farmers Market, opening in May 2025 at 5025 Knox Ave. S. in the Mount Olivet Church parking lot. This new location on 50th Street will offer increased visibility and accessibility, creating an exciting opportunity to better serve the Armatage, Kenny, Lynnhurst, Tangletown, and Windom neighborhoods.

With a deep commitment to supporting farmers and makers, Neighborhood Roots has been at the heart of connecting neighborhoods through vibrant markets for over 15 years. The Southwest Farmers Market marks the next step in this ongoing journey and the organization looks forward to growing with the community. The new market will build on Neighborhood Roots' successful management of the Kingfield Farmers Market, the Nokomis Farmers Market, and the beloved Winter Markets at Bachman’s on Lyndale Avenue.

In celebration of this exciting new chapter, the Southwest Farmers Market is unveiling its new logo, designed by Miki Schiefelbein. The logo features a bridge, inspired by the many crossings over Minnehaha Creek, symbolizing connection and the coming together of communities.

An info session about the Southwest Farmers Market will be held during the upcoming Neighborhood Roots Winter Market on Saturday, Jan. 11, at 11 a.m. in the Bachman’s Heritage Room. The session will offer insight into the market’s vision, details about its plans, and ways to get involved.

The Winter Market will run from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Bachman’s greenhouse, offering plenty of time to shop with local vendors before or after the info session.

The Southwest Farmers Market is a wonderful opportunity to further strengthen community ties, celebrate local food, and grow together. Join the Winter Market and info session to learn more and become part of this exciting new endeavor.
