After this month's very confused summer weather, which somehow got lost in October, we’re officially in countdown-to-winter season. Thankfully, a new way to keep warm in Kingfield will give you something to look forward to. Stokeyard Outfitters will be moving into 4355 Nicollet Ave S., the previous home of Landscape Love.
This new venture brings the former operators of Sauna Village, which was located at 4700 Nicollet Ave S., back to the neighborhood. “Sauna Village was just taking off when COVID shut us down,” said John Pederson, one of Stokeyard’s owners. They pivoted to mobile sauna rentals business, and have been running the “Thermaculture” public sauna and ice bath programs at the Hewing Hotel.
The new location will have public programs similar to what they're running at the Hewing, and also serve as a showroom for mobile saunas and sauna tents. “We're the first dealer in Minnesota to carry the new sauna tent from Snowtrekker and Stormy Kromer, which hit the market last week,” said Pederson, who runs the business with Rod Buhrsmith.
They’ll be aiming to open their doors this week for people to begin exploring the space, looking at inventory, and booking sauna appointments.
