ColorWheel Gallery aims to make art accessible to everyone, promote local artists, and offer inspiration to create more vibrant communities. They offer special events, community art making workshops & classes, and a gift shop boutique that carries an always-changing variety of locally made, hand crafted, and one of a kind items.

Hunt & Gather (4946 Xerxes Ave. S.)

Hunt & Gather has a little bit of everything. Two floors stocked with vintage goods, books, stickers, dishware, and posters. You could spend a whole day in the store and maybe get through everything.

Khazana (2225 Lyndale Ave. S.)

Khazana is an Indian-owned boutique tucked into Lyndale Avenue in Whittier. Explore the wonders of global crafts here. But check their hours before you go–they are only open a few days a week.

Odd Mart (2520 Lyndale Ave. S.)

Part comic book store, part vintage store, you will find something odd in here for sure. You can visit the store’s website but there is much more in the store to peruse.

Electric Fetus (2000 4th Ave. S.)

Electric Fetus stocks a comprehensive selection of new and used vinyl, CDs, and DVDs. They also carry an array of gift items including books, toys, clothing, jewelry, accessories, stationery, incense, bath and beauty products, housewares, and turntables.

Extreme Noise Records (407 W Lake St.)

If you have a punk or metal fan in your life, this record store is a goldmine.

Twin Town Guitars (3400 Lyndale Ave. S.)

Twin Town is filled with guitars, basses, pianos, ukuleles, microphones, sweatshirts, drum kits, and sheet music.

Birchbark Books (2115 W. 21st St.)

A Native and woman-owned bookstore tucked into the Kenwood neighborhood that features Indigenous-authored books.

Comma, a bookshop (4250 Upton Ave. S.)

The Linden Hills bookstore carries newly released fiction and nonfiction, gifts, and prominently features Minnesota authors and makers.

Magers & Quinn Booksellers  (3038 Hennepin Ave. S.)

Magers & Quinn is one of the most prominent independent bookstores in Minneapolis. Browse the shelves for the perfect book or literary-themed gift or grab a gift certificate or the choosy booklover in your life.

Once Upon a Crime (604 W. 26th St. )

Once Upon a Crime is the only bookstore in Minneapolis that carries exclusively mystery fiction.

Paperback Exchange (2227 W. 50th St.)

A bookstore filled to the brim with used paperback books. A perfect spot to discover an old favorite or a new treasure.

Wild Rumpus Books (2720 W. 43rd St.)

Wild Rumpus is an independent children's bookstore which happens to be home to a menagerie of creatures, including cats and chinchillas.

Bobby Bead (2831 Hennepin Ave. S.)

Bobby Bead is a special shop on Hennepin Avenue next to La Bodega Taco Bar. There are beads for every occasion and every level of crafter. The selection ranges in material, color, size, attachment style. Beading tools available as well. Great for kids.

Dandelion Fiber Company (3952 Lyndale Ave. S.)

Dandelion Fiber Company sells a variety of yarn that is unique to the store. They also have an online store with local pickup options.

Digs is a great shop for crafters, selling fabric, yarn and fun odds and ends like buttons. A host of homegoods, knick knacks, and baby onesies are also available.

Good Yard Goods (4155 Grand Ave. S.)

Good Yard Goods is a Kingfield fabric store with a focus on quilting, but the fabrics can be used for other projects like curtain and garment-making. There is a vast range of prints including botanicals, stripes, funky squiggles, and some solids as well.

Everett and Charlie is located in Linden Hills and exclusively features Minnesota artists. The gallery features paintings, pottery, prints, jewelry, and a variety of gift items for the holidays and every day.

Hemp House is a small CBD and Delta-9 shop tucked around the corner of 28th and Lyndale Ave. S. One of the original cannabinoid stores that popped up in Minneapolis.

Uffda Cannabis Co. (5450 Nicollet Ave.)

Uffda is another great THC shop in Southwest that offers gummies, chocolates, and drinks. They recently moved to a larger storefront in Tangletown.
